Two days ago at work I heard from a fellow co-worker that Austin was being featured all over CNN. Later that day I go home, and sure enough, there is a segment dedicated to my lovely city about some weird occurrance Sunday night. Apparently 63 dead pigeons, grackles and sparrows were found along Congress Avenue, and no one knows why.
Thank god Homeland Security stepped in!
"A Homeland Security spokesman said there is "no credible intelligence'' that suggests a threat against Austin."
Phew!
Full story.
Follow-up: Theories on bird deaths! Drunk?.

I saw a dead pigeon last week. My hometown is about 1/100 the size of Austin. Where the hell is Homeland Security? They should be as concerned about rural America as the cities. Just because there is "no credible intelligence" in the Austin situation doesn't mean a plot is not at hand elsewhere in our vast country.
My next message will be to my congressman!

My stupid iPhone game: Nesen Probe, it's rather old, annoying and pointless, but it's free.
Was free. Now it's gone. Never to be seen again.
Off to join its brother and sister apps that could not
keep up with the ever updating iOS. RIP Nesen Probe.

Ya the terrorists have finally outdone 9/11 with 63 dead pigeons in Texas.
Phase 2 involves eradicating 36 Armadillos near some drive in theatre in North Carolina.

"or they were disoriented from new high-rise structures in downtown Austin and hit the reflective glass."
Did these building spring up overnight or were these out of town migrating pigeons who aren't accustom to 50 story steel obstacles and naturally tried to fly through them?
