I have a Samsung Captivate and my battery life sucks. I barely use any programs and my battery life is drained to below 50% before half the day is over.

Any ideas on why this could be?

Turn off wi-fi. It can drain a battery fast.

Settings -> About Phone -> Battery use

Tells you exactly (cell radio, wifi radio, bt radio, display, apps) what is using your battery.
