I am wasting away watching movies and tv shows on front row. I should be sleeping since I have to work 48 hours this weekend...oh well.
What should you be doing right now? Working? Studying? Putting the final touches on your homemade hovercraft? Okay, that last one probably one applies to one person here

^ Small car, if 9” is all it takes to bury it.
Homework. And showering to get ready for the dorm resident committee meeting (is that a word? Not sure what to call beboerrådsmøde in English) that starts in... oops, 25 minutes. Yipes.

I got freezing rain. The ice was hard, I had to let it defrost, rather than scrape it.

Running media for a funeral. I'm doing it.
Well, actually I'm sitting in the media booth, looking at what you guys are saying while waiting for the minister to wrap his looooooong eulogy up so I can play the final DVD and get outta here.

Working on a project that's due in six days. Not that I think it'll be hard to do, I just don't want to right now. And I'll have all weekend to get started on it. Yuck.
Oisín, I think "dorm resident committee meeting" is about as succinct as you can get in English, and I won't even try to pronounce " beboerrådsmøde". I'm not even sure how to pronounce "Oisín."

Nobody will read it anyways Pete, so you might as well not bother and get hammered instead.

Dorm resident committee meeting... sounds like something they had in the USSR
They had a committee for everything.

I should be working out (but it's cold and I'm not "motivated" at the moment) and then doing homework. Bleah. I'll get to those things. Just not right away.

Like ‘machine’, but without the m at the beginning (obviously). Simple

Procrastination is a dish best served cold-especially when it's supposed to be a very simple project anyway.

Ah. I had expected the accented 'i' to have a particular pronunciation, but I hadn't expected the 's' to be different from the IPA 's'. Or am I missing (or overreading) something?

Nope, you’re not. It’s Irish, so the surrounding i’s palatalise the s, making it an [ʃ]. In IPA, it would be [ə'ʃi:ɲ], for exactitude (Donegal dialect, which is ‘my’ dialect).

Same here, but I have terrible writer's block today. I think I'll go watch a movie or listen to some new albums I picked up.

A ping-pong table with a keg underneath? A special table for applying the dreaded "beer bong"? I'm pretty well lost on that one. SpaceMonkey, "your post is worthless without pictures!"

Oisín had it closest. It's a drinking game, popular with American high school and college students (especially in fraternities), and guys in their mid-to-late twenties who, bizarrely, think that it is still the pinnacle of a good time on a Friday/Saturday night (my idiot roommate). In the game, players stand on opposite ends of a long table, with cups arranged in a bowling pin-type set up, filled with beer. Players take turns trying to toss a ping pong ball into their opponent's cups. If they land the ball in a cup, then their opponent has to drink the beer in that cup. It's also sometimes called "Beirut," often by people who take it way too seriously and think of it as some kind of "sport" instead of an overly complicated way to go about a night of drinking (the Wiki article is depressingly exhaustive).
A typical beer pong table (note that this one is actually much more classy than my idiot roommate's):

Yep, much classier than the plastic picnic tables on which I usually find myself playing.
And now? I should be writing a lab report before I leave for the Super Bowl party. Oh well.

Ok, thanks. I had heard of this "sport" and mercifully buried it deep in my subconscious. It does go along with beer bongs and like activities in the category "becoming inebriated as the entire purpose of the activity." Sad. Entertaining to watch sometimes, but sad.
I am about to (and should have already been) feed my dogs and cats. This activity is not as simple as it sounds, as before feeding them, the cat's "facilities" must be cleaned. Not horrible (they're all healthy and fairly neat), but not my favorite thing to do in the evening either.
