My iBook is sitting in customs right now. FedEx told me I'd get it today. I was counting dow nteh hours...the minutes...and when I finally get home, there's still a white "please leave at door" letter that I signed this morning.

Needless to say, I'm PISSED.

iBookbum- same here. The baby's been there since Sunday..at 11:34 AM. Maybe our guys are bunking together? I called FedEx..it SHOULD be getting out of customs today. God willing. They said they'd call me when it left customs...no ringy-dingy yet. All I know is...if I don't get this baby tomorrow, I'm going to be yelling my ass off at FedEx (considering that I forgot that UPS Ground is impossible in Taiwan, and upgraded my shipping). Personally...I don't know..it may just be me...but when they call it "Two-Day shipping" it should come in two business days...not be stuck in CUSTOMS for two business days.

I just talked to FEDEX and they said the package isn't released yet by customs, but should get released some time tonight. They also stated that customs would of informed FEDEX by now if there was a problem...so it looks like we'll get our ibooks tomorrow!

fyi, the package sitting in Alaska is over 500lbs, so it's one huge shipment of ibooks. Also, their website probably won't update the path of delivery until midnight (EST).

So hopefully this time tomorrow, we'll be posting our initial impressions of the ibooks in the forum. See ya then.

What type of iBook did you order?

Heh, my iBook is sitting in Anchorage right now also. Its also been there since 11:34 on Sunday so there must be a bunch of them there. I also hope ot have mine by Thursday since I have to give a presentation that day and I don't know if I can borrow my friend's Ti...

So if there's 500 pounds worth of iBooks in Alaska then that means there's a hundred of them.

I agree, the lot should be around 100...since each weighs less than 5lbs.

I ordered the standard model with 64MB RAM and 10GB HD. I have 128MB RAM coming in tomorrow and I plan on purchasing external components as needed. We'll see if the lot clears customs and leaves Alaska approx 12 am EST (that's when FEDEX updates their site).

God..I hope you're right about the "being released tonight." I can't take much more of this...

BTW...yelled at FedEx several times today. Apple also refunded my $15 FedEx thing, since I complained...not to mention that it's pretty hard to do UPS Ground from Taiwan to my front door...

After getting grouchy FedEx representatives all day, it was very pleasureful to hear a nice Apple representative voice. Gotta love those Apple reps.

Ehhh...even if they do release it tonight...what are the chances of the thing arriving at my doorstep within the next 10 hours when it'd be scheduled for delivery? Seems hopeless. Damnit.

you got that right, it hasn't cleared customs....I'm calling Apple after this and getting my shipping fees waived. It's not like we're buying computers from the back of someone's taxi in Taiwan!

Damnit..I hate US Customs. Don't they know that there's eager Apple fanatics awaiting their shipments? Oh well. We wait until Thursday, then.

from the info I gathered, FEDEX should change their name to FEDUP! they're saying that they need some additional paperwork from apple or something...this is ridiculous.

Next Day Delivery? Yesterday at 6 a.m. when I check Apple Status - zip, nothing - but then again at 8:30 a.m. I got an Apple e-mail saying the Combo had been shipped gave Fed Ex #. Checked Fed Ex Tracking said AK. The rest of the day into the night 5-29 11:10 p.m. no change in status -no sign of movement-. Now here at 2:36 a.m., I awake and check Fed Ex Tracking - read Berkeley. I just may be waiting at the postal drop station (where I get my daily mail and packages) to see if iBook2 appears. 21 days from order 5-10. Will report back.

I missed the small print to the right under comments, well I did read it but did not really try and understand. But boy do I understand the message now, after little or no sleep from 2:36 a.m. on.

People are mentioning on other threads that they got their iBook from Alaska today. Mine's still there. FedEx is having a representative from Anchorage, Alaska contact me today.

If I don't get this thing by tomorrow, I will have a MAJOR fit. So, all I know is they better GET ME that iBook by tomorrow, or they'll endanger the telephone reps by exposing them to my calls.

And, I'm not joking. This is really rediculous.

So, you yell at FedEx people, just trying to do their jobs, and complain when they get grouchy back? And you expect and are happy to get a pleasant experience with an Apple rep? Did you yell at them too?

See.. "yell" is my expression for "having a serious talk with representatives." I'm actually an easy-going guy, and I haven't raised my voice or shouted at anyone yet...only at one representative who was rude at me.

Interesting... My combo iBook was shipped on Monday 5/28 and zoomed right through Alaska. It was delivered to my house today at noon. FedEx must've bungled the paperwork for your particular shipment. That just plain sucks.

Hey Everyone. I've talked to FEDUP a few times today and they confirmed that customs has cleared the shipment and it'll leave today around 3:30 their time (Alaska). So in a few hours we should see some type of update on the site.

FEDUP said I should get the package by noon tomorrow. I don't want to get my hopes up though bc it's been a constant let down for the past 4 days!

Mine's still in Alaska and has been since Sunday! I'm super vexed! And its way past either 3:30 or 1:30 here (its 5:19 here in Oregon) and no change on Fedex site. Why oh why must you torment me so?

No update on the FedEx site here. Still in Alaska. I'm REALLY started to get POed at FedUp. As if I wasn't before...

I will NOT be a happy camper if I don't get this thing tomorrow. Not like I'm in a good mood right now anyway...but it'll put me over the edge if I don't get a nice box from Apple tomorrow.

And I'm leaving a disgruntled letter to the FedUp carrier tomorrow. It shall read:

"Dear FedUp Carrier,

You can leave teh damned package at the door. Thanks again for your PROMPT delivery."

Am I bitter? Of course.

Hehe... I passed refreshing a 'couple' of times the first twenty seconds after I got the tracking number...
P.S. I'm sure it's times like this that FedEx hates their up-to-date tracking system... otherwise how the heck would we even know?
