So I've been seeing this girl for a while, almost 5 years now. I started seeing her after I got divorced. We've had a rocky relationship, on and off a couple times, and it seems like we're always bickering and fighting. It's not me, it's her

dude can build stuff but even aside from safety/fumes issues, not having a shower is a pretty big no for a living situation.

Real men don't need showers, they wash up with Gojo. Just slather it all over and wipe it off.
(Yeah, I do know someone who did that when they couldn't take a shower, that's hardcore.)

Horrible decision for someone apparently so worried about building wealth, even some hardcore Porsche collectors would have balked at that basket case.

From a post about his Insight:
I think it looks pretty cool. Then again I have a huge dick/ego and I'm not afraid of driving something that society labels as ugly. IMHO it looks like a car from the future, or the set of bladerunner. I like looking at it just as much as I like looking at my classic 911.

I never really saw the problem with him. He is incredibly talented and wants to show what he has done. Nothing wrong with that. I wish that he would continue to post here.

I'm with you. At the end of the day MacNN has worked diligently to weed out those people who cause any sort of trouble...and the current idyllic, pastoral state is a logical result.
I love reading about his projects. Basically, I wish I could do stuff like that...but instead I chose to, you know, get married and buy a house with a stupid mortgage and slave to The Man trying to pay back all my student debts. All these things that Rob would highly disapprove of and shake his head sadly in my general direction as hot water pours plentifully out of the clean, bright Goodlife shower he visits every morning in order to rid himself from the ever-present engine fumes and overnight kiss of warehouse dust.

Maybe you people are viewing the past with rose-colored glasses. He ruined every single car thread on this site (and plenty of other threads, too) by making them about how much SUVs suck, or how retarded it is to buy new cars, or how certain cars are for fags, etc etc.
Yes, he occasionally posted project threads. Those were also often filled with him ignoring the advice of and arguing with people that knew better than him.
You want to see cool builds? Check Build Threads for car builds. Sweet home theater builds? Check AVS Forum. Random home or auto projects in neat little digestible packets? Check Reddit DIY. There are literally hundreds of thousands of cool projects out there for the browsing, many of which were completed by people that aren't giant assholes. There's no reason to pine for the destruction of the discourse of this forum just so he'll cross post a few pictures here.
If one person can ruin the face of an entire subforum, the onus should not on everyone else to ignore that person.
Is MacNN Dying/Dead/Zombified? Sure. Would it be better with Rob around? No.

Quite possibly. I am conservative like that.
But for the most part I never took him seriously. Obviously some of his rants were about things that others (like you) did take seriously, so shit got heated.
At the end of the day, Rob has never been able to handle being baited. And some people (like yourself ) love to bait as a matter of course. So I suppose each and every banination was all pretty inevitable.

Volunteering is unusual, but I can't recall something they refused to explain.
There have been things which weren't explained satisfactorily, but explanations were definitely given.

The row is only as tall as one extra small line, while the column gets thrown way off.

Also, props for combing through my post history to try to make fun of me. You continue to be a pathetic, petty, bitch.
This place is dead because it bans people with actual personalities yet somehow allows ****tards like Laminar to stay around, who continually bait people/attack/act like douchebags. Have fun, going back to a few more years of banning while Macnn withers and dies due to over moderation.

Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

Other way around, com-padre. Lam has always had a huge boner for me, to the point where he will actively search the internet to find more info about me. He probably has a shrine with photos of my garage, in the hope that he would someday be as cool as me.

The whole multi-year prolonged competitive credential thing is weird, like it really matters what people on the internet think about anything.

The internet is too weird a place to spend one moment worrying about winning hearts and minds.
I'm a musician, so naturally I look at a number of YouTube videos (sometimes skimming the comments/likes) and read a number of Facebook comments as well. I typically find commentary from other musicians asserting themselves as an authority with sometimes dubious credentials to be doing that, Joe Sixpack-type comments that are sometimes sort of interesting and could be useful as a form of feedback but are often lacking in sample size, and just a grab bag of weird politics and drama.
There is no winning at the internet, only losing.
