Can this be done, let me explain if the title isn't clear. I have a MacBook, and a iMac. I want to connect the MacBook, maybe via Firewire to the iMac so I can use the 2 input channels on the MacBook on the iMac. Is there any way this can be done, so the MacBook could be use as some sort of sound card or input device. I hope this somewhat makes sense.

No.

Buy an external USB or Firewire audio device. M-audio(.com) has quite a few options.
