Here's a couple pictures of the new body I bought for my Trinity T-Spec RC car.

I,
-masked the windows
-painted metallic red body
-removed window mask
-sprayed with "window tint" paint
-remove protective mask on outside of body
-apply decals
-cut body to fit chassis
-done

Took pictures.

Here they are:

More pictures: Mazda 6 RC Trinity T-Spec - powered by SmugMug

I did a horrible job cutting around the wheels. I need to buy curved scissors. I also had t cut the rear bumper so high to accommodate slopes on my driveway, I am not entirely please with how that looks.

It was my first one, I rushed it. [NOTE: Sig.] I'll take my time on the next one and make it just for show. I hated the body that came with it when I bought it used. It was silver and orange.

Anyone else done this?

That's pretty slick looking, good job! I wish I had my RC car, I used to have a really nice one, but a friend killed it. Tried to drive it through a pond

I like it even though I am not the slightest bit interested. Very pretty color.

Do you think I should have used Shutter Priority, Manual, or Automatic? Or possibly "A-Dep'? What about "P"?

I like the look of the shallow depth of field f/1.8 gives me. I took some shots at f/7, but I just wasn't happy with the results. EDIT: The shallow depth of field hides most of the flaws too

It is 1/10th scale. I thought about putting my shoe out there, perhaps I will do the Coke can instead.

I mainly shoot in either manual mode or Aperture Priority.

What lens were you using?

Sorry, I was being sarcastic with him.

On a serious note: I was using the ultra cheap Canon 50 mm f/1.8 lens @ ISO 800, 1/500s, & +1/3 exp bias. I use Aperture Priority mode quite a bit, but I use Shutter Priority for sports/action and I use A-Dep for landscape/scenery shots. My wife uses Auto.

Nice work! The paintjob looks great also.... but the body?! Why'd you cut off the front? And I'm not trying to tick you off, but apart from the headlight and grill stickers, it doesn't look ANYTHING like a mazda. Here's what a mazda's body looks like:

The body you have looks nothing like the mazda 6, except for the stickers. I think you kinda got ripped off on that part. I mean... it's NOTHING like it. Look at the trunk, or the shape of the windows. :|

Ignoring that, it looks cool. Have any vids of it in action?

Actually, thanks for the pictures, it shows how well ProLine did to make it actually look like a Mazda6! They did a very good job with the roof line, windows, doors, body panels, hood... heck, just about everything.

My intention was not to buy a Mazda body, it was pretty much the only thing available at the hobby store. I would have bought a GM product if I could have, preferably a Corvette. Alas, only the Mazda was available. But I am pleased with it.

I was wondering whether you'd be able to identify him from the post. Not that I was 100% certain.

Missed the "RC" bit, and assumed this was some crazy car mod - and everyone had thought it was a real car..

I went to this thread first, replied, and then, like I do with all usernames I don't recognize, followed the "Find more posts by this user" link... didn't take long.

Remember, I retired from GM... I only buy Union-made, American company, American-made cars. But I make allowances for toys.

I don't mind him when he isn't trolling. I think he and I share a lot of similar interests: R/C Cars, photography, automobiles, beer, etc.
