What days are you going?
Is anyone meeting up?

Looks like I turned out as a MW badge collector. I have the MWSF05 badge in front of me, but I have school.

As it happens I'm actually going to be in SF for a few days around the 10-14th period. I'd love to go to, as I've never been to a Macworld Expo.

But then again I'll be too jetlagged to appreciate it.

I've planned to go for two years running but both times there wasn't anything interesting enough to compel me to go. Maybe this year.

Unlikely. This will be my last quarter in college. Anyway, I been to the MWSF 2002 and 2003 (which Steve Wozniak was a special guest). I'm sure I'll be going back in 2006... I love the BayArea.

Hopefully, there will be a live webcast.

I'll be there again, second year in a row! I should be at the expo parts of Tuesday and Wednesday, if any of the MacNN old-timers want to get together.

i'll be out there waiting in line on Tuesday morning for the keynote. so if anyone else is coming, let me know and i'll save you a place in line.

once everyone responds, we'll come up with a good meeting place and some badges so that we can identify ourselves amongst the throng of non-macnn geeks there.

I actually broke down and bought the 2 day Users Conference this year. This is the first time I"m attending keynote without sneaking in.

Hey Demonhood, how early are you planning on standing in line? If it's before 6:30 am then I guess can afford to sleep-in a little.

I want to go, but I can't afford it. I tried to get free tickets from the list of "Participating" places, none of them said they ever got Macworld coupons or tickets... even the Apple Store. I missed the online promotion.

Sigh.

Well, I'm unfortunately too poor/cheap to attend the keynote (unless Demonhood knows how to sneak me in ), but I'll be around later that day if anyone wants to get together for some food or something.

You bet. I've done it twice now without question (well, I did go with my bro, but I did order the badges and all myself.. they don't give a damn)...

I don't think they allow people under 13 by themselves though

I'll be taking a week off from work to attend. I live some-what local, so I can come and go as I please. I bought the User Pass so I can make my first ever attempt at seeing the Keynote Address. I see "6:30am" mentioned as a time to get in line, is that typical? Can I arrive later and still get in? What is the seating capacity limited too? I'd be willing to join up with someone to share a place in line for periodic trips to get coffee and visit the "little mac-users" room.

I actually posted about that earlier, but I wasn't sure if I have to mail it in, or if I can bring it up to the door like I did last year?

Doh! I wasn't paying attention to the link you posted. I'm not sure about mailing it in or not. You can still request an exhibit pass from peach pit if you email them your name and mailing address. Just email the request to [email protected] by jan. 3rd.

Well, I'll be going if they let me in. You see, I was given a pass to attend in lieu of someone who can't make it, so the name on the badge is not my own. Do they check IDs at entry?

I don't yet know what days/times I'll attend as I want to cooridinate my visits with those of a friend. I'll be looking for those of you wearing your MacNN tags and say hello. If you're rude to me, I'll step on your foot!

Sure, I'll take one.

Since I just have an exhibit hall pass I won't be able to join you guys for the keynote, but I'd love to meet up for lunch. What's the time and place?

Couple things:
-you can probably get in line for the keynote around 7:30 and still get in. probably. the line is ungodly by 7.
-get your badge holder the day before if possible if you're going to the keynote. i forgot last year and i had to use my old badge holder from the year before to get into the keynote.
-the line will move several times. don't get too excited once you get inside the building. you still have a long way to go. look around and relish in your geekiness.

keynote people: i'll be in line at 6:30am or so, depending on when i want to leave my comfortable hotel bed. you can look for my nametag, or giant dark blue umbrella (if it's raining). my hair isn't a funky color this year, so that's no help. sorry.

tuesday people: let's meet out in front of the north hall at 12:30. we can decide on lunch from there. if it's raining, we'll meet inside the doors. we can always jog over to the metreon if don't want to go far.

if someone else wants to meet up on another day, post in here and i'll be checking it.
oh, and since i haven't had much free time lately, i just recycled most of the old nametags for this year. sorry bout that. here's a peek.

i'll have a few blanks for anyone else who shows up. hope to see you folks soon.

i do i do. it seems i may get a pass to walk around. no keynotes though =/
looks like i'll be in if i can get passes from ambrosia by then. so i guess i'm a tuesday person.

if you need an idea for the nametag (lancer evo related) here's two pics.

thanks in advance!

one last thing...
what's a badgeholder/nametagholder? something i can pick up at walgreens that i would slip a paper thing into? (i'm not a convention person so this is all new to me..) i dont know if i will get a ambrosia pass sent to me in time, even tho the guy said he'd send me two, so i may end up printing the owc thing and see if they'll let me in.

btw, if someone wants to pick up a badgeholder thing for me, i'll pay 'em back (i'm good for a couple of bucks . Man I'm excited, keynote or not, it'd be neat to be surrounded by apple goodies and 3rd party stuff. not to mention see'ing a bunch of macnn folks. too bad zimp/MoS/dantheman/storer and all those other frequent posters wont be there. be nice to meet dan ... he rags on me all the time.

I'm very saddened the Steve has decided to pull the plug on the satellite. My wife and I were looking forward to seeing his Keynote live at our local Apple Store. I'm becoming very concerned about Steve. I sent a message to Apple to voice my onion about this.
