I have a book where a guy from California had shoved more than 12 inches from the frame in its height: 6 inches in the windows area and more than 6 all around the body below the window. The Webers were perking out of the hood and the driver was actually lying in the car, his head resting close to the rear window...

The mini Marcos was cool too:

I loved that car; I parked anywhere I wanted, Winters were fun (I live in Canada!) and the looks you get are always funny as hell.

I will always regret the day I sold it...

Aw chucks...

I dunno; but the fact that he shortened the frame by about 6 or 10 inches makes this type of driving far easier...

Wow! That was COOL! The only thing that bothered me was it sounded like he was going to overrev that engine and throw a rod (or would it be a "wire" in a Mini? ). And I sure wouldn't want to have to pay for his tires...But the demo was WAY cool!

Regarding the engine, they are of the type that never blow up. The 1275 cc anyway. The Cooper are another story; those engines were pretty worked up. But I am not a specialist of those engines.

The tires are available for about $24.00 a piece at Canadian Tire.

But you can get Yokohama's for up to $150 US a piece as well...

Wow, very impressive at the obstacle course. A good turning radius also.

I once saw someone win at the 'egg n spoon' race. They were very good also.

You know what? Stop crapping all over my thread and leave if you cannot be nice to people!

First you give wdlove a hard time, who doesn't deserver you tude, and now you are jumping (pun intended) all over SimpleLife. (Whom I rarely agree with, but he doesn't deserver your snotty attitude.)

---

If you have something positive to add to the thread topic which is Mini Coopers, then do so, otherwise, why are you here, to piss on everyone?

Aww, don't be like that. I was just making fun of weedlover. Sorry. Sorry weedlover. Sorry everyone.

I thought the video was cool though.

I remember reading about a guy who built a Mini with each back wheel powered by it's own 1000cc motorbike engine. Its was absurdly fast. I've been trying to find a link to it, to make it up to you, but I've had no luck

...... seriously though, "jumps"?! .....

I have ridden in the old mini-cooper running at top speed on a twisty road and watched it lap race cars on a wet course. At that time, I was chastised after my driver's license test for making a u-turn instead of a three point turn with my Triumph Spitfire. (Cape Caveral, Florida did not have paved roads at the time. They were all sand making driving fun if you had a real car.) sam

Yep. You bet I did. I'd do it again, although that would cost me another set of ballbearings...

Jumped over a railroad and I know all the wheels were off the ground, 'twas a sunny day, and landed pulling on the steering wheel and my leg fully extended on the breaks, right before the red light.

Maybe I should scan a picture of that car and put it on the web...

Coopers won the Monte-Carlo rallies 4 years in a row ahead of Porsches, IIRC, except ponoe year when they were disqualified because of one wrong headlight...
