Other than it looks super cool? How's the sound? It is mono, right? So it can't be very good, but damn, that looks good . . .

I saw a review on it somewhere, but I can't remember its location.

The iPal should be excellent. It is made by Tivoli Audio, the producers of the famous Henry Kloss Model One Radio. I do not have an iPal, but I do have a Model One and the sound quality is stunning! The Tivoli Audio web site has review clippings on it.

The iPal is just a battery powered Model One in a different more rugged case I think.
It has the same specs as the Model One.
They are a great product as was the original Cambridge Model 88 Table Radio, also designed by Kloss.

They have Model 88 with CD at Sams club for $200.00. These kick ass!
They are remote controlled and have adjustable sub-woofers built-in.

I got one the other day and used it for the first time today. I wanted something portable I could take to work or for weekends away etc and use when headphones weren't convenient.

The sound quality is very good, imo, though it is mono. (For stereo, the Model 2 is a good alternative, though not really portable) The iPal is the PAL (the portable version of the model 1) repackaged with a iPod like finish and a cable to connect to the iPod headphone minijack. It also works wirelessly via the iTrip.

as far as I understand, the PAL offered the same functionality as the iPAL, but I've not really explored the specs fully. It's certainly a clever strategy to expand the market.

The reviews I've seen have been positive; quite a few show up on a google search.

and, it looks very cool

I sell these every day. They sound really good for such a small radio, in fact they sound excellent. Get it !!
