So, I was wondering if this was at all possible this theory that I have. I have an old ADC 15" connected to my G5 and whenever my phone or someone else's phone is near the damn monitor it activates the thermal switch and tell the computer to shut down.
For the longest time I never was able to see it shut down, as in I never was paying attention to my screen it would just shut off, so for the longest time I thought something was wrong with the G5. However, a couple of days ago I was on iChat and it logged itself off and all of my apps started quiting then it shut off, as if someone issued a Shut Down.
So is it possible for the thermal sensor to be activated by cell phone signals? And is there anyway to deactivate the POS?

It's not thermal. It's touch sensitive and, so it would seem, wireless sensitive. Your machine shut down because that was a feature of these monitors, but the "restart, shut down" dialog should have appeared, not an immediate shutdown.
I don't recall cell signals being a problem with these switches, but there's not really anything you can do short of opening the monitor and disconnecting the switch.

Doesn't a 15" display feel really cramped for a desktop?
