a low battery warning on my Ibook? It nevers comes up. The Ibook goes to sleep when the battery is low, but never do I see a warning or anything.

OTOH sometimes the Ibook just goes to sleep for the heck of it, while there is plenty of battery left. Does anyone experience that?

I wouldn't know how to answer your first question, except with "that's odd", since I regularly get the low battery warning when I have about 10 minutes of battery power left (and again and again the more I use it past that point).

As for your second question, the iBook can go to sleep when it is inactive for a certain period of time, as defined in the Energy Saving preferences in System Preferences (or Control Panel, if you're using Mac OS 9.x).

Hmm interesting. I am indeed always connected to cable internet through airport. Wonder if that is the reason. It would sound like a bug if it was the case....
I gotta check the Apple discussions to see if anybody else reportedit.

thanks

Yeah but I don't think that's the case here. It does that at random time, while I am using it. It is not frequent really but it happens. I am wondering if my motherboard is not running bad again.

Maybe the sleeping thing is due to overheating?

I once placed my ibook under a hot lamp accidently and when I opened it the screen was compeletley black but the computer still seemed to be awake.

I just did the ctrl+cmd+power to reset.. (on ibook)

the other thing is that I am also always connected to the cable internet via airport and I get the low battery warning. Maybe you should take this up with apple.
