That's weird. I click on that link with my MacBook and I still get the ad in the beginning. On the iPad I don't.

Yeah, the payouts this week have sucked. A measly 4,000 cR for a weekly challenge? Lame.

I played some Firefight last night and came across a player that had the Inclement Weather armor effect. It looked cool but damn, 2 million cR. I'm currently sitting around 760,000 cR.

Here's a video I rendered that shows the armor effect in action. Oh... and there's a "fail of the weak" type moment with a Banshee at the end.

And speaking of fails of the week... it's time for Fails of the Week 11 and 12

YouTube - Halo: Reach - Fails of the Weak Volume 11 (Funny Screw-Ups and Bloopers)

YouTube - Halo: Reach - Fails of the Weak Volume 12 (Funny Bloopers and Screw-Ups!)

The sticky fails are hilarious.

FYI to all you achievement whores out there (yeah Bogues, I'm talking to you). Six of the seven new achievements DO NOT require the DLC maps. That is all. Hit me up for some multi team bitch!

Yeah, I guess that's true. Most of the new achievements don't require the DLC. Only 1 requires the DLC and I think it's worth the least.

I wanna get that shotgun double-kill.

The stockpile one is going to be hard to get.

Its sad that Bungie is giving the reins to someone else, but at least they made a huge contribution to the gaming community. Its off to bigger and better things for Bungie!

Well today I experienced an achievement hunter worthy fail of the weak.

I was playing multi-team slayer on Tempest and my teammate had the rocket launcher. He shot off one rocket at the Warthog and it killed the driver. I decided to throw a grenade to finish off the gunner. My throw came up short and I was gun downed by his turret. My teammate shot off a second rocket and as it headed towards Warthog, my grenade went off and deflected his rocket. The Warthog gunner ended up killing my teammate as well.

My view:

I'm ok with the daily challenges. You can get anywhere between 5,000-6,000cR if you complete all four of them. It seems the new minimum for a daily is 1,000cR which is a lot better than the 250-400cR crap we were getting in the beginning.

Earn 25 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking.

More than a Handful - 1250cR
Kill 125 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking.

Light Fuse, Run Away - 1000cR
Kill 4 enemies with grenades in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.

Go Right Ahead Folks - 1250cR

January Playlist Updates

As of right now, our matchmaking support team has deployed two major playlist additions, introducing Arena FFA and Community Slayer, the latter of which is completely comprised of some notable Forgetacular maps. They've also made other, more minor modifications, which we've lovingly listed below. Go nuts!

PLAYLISTS
Arena
* Added FFA Arena playlist, test your might in this 6-8 player Arena
* Added Unanchored map variant to all Arena playlists
* Players can now change their votes in Arena playlists

Community Slayer
* The first of several new community playlists
* Unaltered maps made by you, the Halo community
* Play and vote. Your voting data controls what rises into the ranks of official playlists!

Team Objective
* Cleaned up entries in the Team Objective playlist, we now offer the best of the best

MLG
* Maps updated to v2.1, this includes fixes to weapon spawn times

Team Slayer
* Adjusted weightings in response to voting data, default “Team Slayer” should now be available more often

MAPS

Asylum
* Added soft kill volumes to the rocks leading up to the ledge on the right side of the Red Base (AKA, Infection camping grounds)
* Adjusted the placement of the large rock on the outside ledge of Red Sniper spawn

The Cage
* Added soft kill volumes to some lower areas outside of the intended playable space

Anchor 9
* Modified the size and shape of the center hill object to better fit the area in KOTH games

Breakpoint
* Reduced the radius of the safe haven in the greenhouse

GAMETYPES

Big Team Slayer
* Now 100 to win!

Elite Slayer
* Modified loadouts, Armor Lock is now accompanied by a Plasma Rifle instead of a Needler
(They forgot to mention that you now start off with only one plasma grenade instead of two.)

Rocket Race
* Motion Tracker is now Enabled
* Hud-widget for KPH is now in the bottom center

Powerups
* In gametypes built from the latest matchmaking variants, powerups should now function as they do in Forge
* You’ll need to save off the latest game variants from your temporary history to take advantage of this!

I like those adjustments. The community maps idea is a nice way to play customized maps with a better CR level for doing it. I also play alot of BTB so I like the increase in the score level (except if you have too many team members desert).

I don't like these changes. The class with Armor Lock and a Needler rocked! This just killed the best class. And what's with the one plasma grenade? Those stickies came in helpful.

I liked using that class as well but the Needler with Armor Lock was just too powerful in combination. Everyone was using it in Elite Slayer. But I agree with you about the sticky grenades. I've lost count on how many deaths from the grave I scored with that second sticky.

Yeah, I played a few games, tonight, after I got the firefight challenges tonight.

I've lost my timing with the hammer! My k/d is going to suffer, although My teams all won their matches.

I still have a long ways to go to get my General rank.

I see their sneaking in higher Cr rewards in a few places - a couple of times in the last week, I've gotten 3000 Cr from the slot machine. The highest I used to get was something like 777 Cr.

Bungie loves to reference 7's.

Yeah, the new mega jackpot is 7777. They say you can increase your chances for mega jackpot if you don't quit out on games. I can't remember the last time I quit out on a game and I've never hit a jackpot over 900.

That ruins my chances. I quit out of two matchmaking campaign sessions today. Nothing worse than the matchmaking only finding one other player to play campaign, especially when you want to lay back and not die.

The stuff in red is what I'm really looking forward to. I'm glad they finally fixed the armor lock glitch in Assault.

February Playlist Updates:

Firefight:
- The Firefight playlist is going away, but will be replaced by TWO “new” playlists. As you probably already guessed, Firefight Arcade and Firefight Limited are coming back permanently.

- But that’s not all. We’re also making some big additions to Score Attack. We’re filling out the playlist with a whopping 10 different gametypes.
* Gruntpocalypse
* Sniper Attack / Rocket Attack / FRG Attack
* Crashsite
* Mythic Attack
* Fiesta Attack

Multiplayer:

Playlists -

* Multi Team: As far as major playlist changes, the most notable is Multi Team which now features 4 teams of 3 instead of 6 teams of 2. Since Rocket Race doesn’t work with teams of 3, we’re upgrading you to Rocket Hog Race! We’ve also added 3 Ball to the lineup to replace the regular Oddball gametype.

* Team SWAT: New gametype offerings are now available in the Team SWAT playlist. New gametypes include Oddball, Stockpile and 3 Plots.

* Grifball: The Grifball playlist is returning for an extended stay as a Community playlist. We’ve updated to the latest gametypes and maps, as well as added the new maps Pinwheel and Oracle’s Revenge.

* Community Slayer: The second round of Community Slayer is coming and with it comes 14 maps (10 new!) built by members of our very own Bungie community. Similar to the previous run, we’ll keep this playlist active for a couple weeks. Play, vote and let us know which your favorite Community maps are in the Optimatch forum!

Gametypes:
* Bro Slayer: This new gametype consists of Team Slayer with co-op style spawning, featured on a variety of maps in Team Slayer, Big Team Battle and Noble Map Pack. Similar to Invasion spawning you can cycle through teammates or choose from your backfield spawns, but watch out for backfield spawn campers!

* Invasion Skirmish: Think of Invasion Slayer, with no vehicles and after capturing drop zones you get instant weapon drops that alternate between Spartan and Covenant regardless of who caps the zone. You’ll still experience loadout and weapon drop progression as each tier advances. Three flavors will be available including Invasion Skirmish (SvE), Spartan Skirmish (SvS) and Elite Skirmish (EvE). These gametypes will be available on a variety of maps in the Invasion and Noble Map Pack playlists. Spartan Skirmish on Anchor 9 is my favorite, check them out and tell us what you think!

* Assault: Players may no longer disarm bombs while their Armor Lock equipment is activated, this affects all Assault gametypes as well as Invasion gametypes with an Assault phase.

Well I had a very productive weekend in Reach. Played a shitload of Team Swat to complete the weekly challenge and increased my k/d ratio from 0.96 (thank you Grifball) to 1.01. I finally got to the rank of General and purchased the Increment Weather armor effect for 2 million cRs. Just need to purchase a few more items from the armory and I'm all set.

Firefight Limited - Based off classic Firefight with 10 shared lives, once lives run out and all players are dead, the game is over.

Firefight Arcade - Based on Rocketfight with weapon pickup enabled. Hammers and Sword starting weapons, added 200% Damage and Melee modifier, 2 each grenade count, Player Movement 120%, enable Grunt B-day, IWHBYD and Cowbell skulls, disabled dropship, 2X Overshields, Skirmisher Bonus Round, Loadout 5 is Hologram, 5 Second Respawn, added Heretics into Waves.

I found Firefight Arcade to be extremely fun. It's only 1 round so it didn't drag out as long as normal Firefight and the AFK players don't make it a chore.

The modifications to Multi-Team sound fun. Having a group of 3 should be more useful in some games and hilarious in other games.

I'll have to wait and see how the firefight changes and score attack changes play out.

I can't believe that I didn't realize it's easier getting a challenge for Firefight where you need X kills on ZZZZZ map by using Score Attack. Through Score Attack you can cycle through all the maps till you get the right one.

So, Stogie made General. I knew he'd catch up to me.

I'm still 1 rank and 200,000+ cRs behind you.

This week's challenge (get 500 kills in multiplayer) should be easy if I stick with Grifball and Team Swat.
