We had a big explosion at Dixie Crystal Sugar Plant tonight. Details are so sketchy. Hundreds involved. Injured. Burned. Dead. My other half is a medic. She's not quite right with this.

The internet news has not yet covered the full scope. So, I can't post a link. There are many families so scared...

That sounds horrible. I hope the government branch rolls in quickly with aids.

Ugh, that sucks—I hope no one you know is affected, and your S/O pulls through this, Keri.

We had one of those explosions where I come from about ten years ago. Thankfully, it was in the middle of the night, so there were only a few people in the building, and none of them were killed (I think one was seriously injured, but pulled through). But it did make the world’s largest toffee: 200,000 cubic metres of melted sugar in an area the size of a soccer field. Took six months to clean up.

Whatever they do when the same happens here, do not try to suck up the still-liquid-and-burning-hot sugar with a vacuum tanker. Some local idiot did that in my town and ruined both his vacuum tankers on it.

They continue to update that link, so... it's just so sad. She saw many people that were so badly burned and they were so scared. Several of the burned probably won't make it. It was very fortunate there were only a hundred or so people there at the time.
