It is official. A Rabbi has declared it kosher for Mossad agents to have sex with enemies. He even gave instruction on how to handle it if the agent is married.

(Haaretz) Israeli rabbi: Honey-pot sex is kosher for female Mossad agents

If he posted some agent pictures, this might create numerous new enemies for Israel. Note: they forgot to include an enemy signup form.

My first PWL thread. What a great start.

We need some pictures so I can choose with which agent I'm an enemy.

I can sympathize with that desire, reader50. The vast majority of girls here are very pretty, but then again I'm into Jewish girls so YMMV. I've got my eyes on one Sabra (native born Israeli) in particular (been admiring her for quite some time), whom I must convince to take extra time off of work tomorrow to see me because I'm flying back to California tomorrow night and need an answer from her as to whether we're just friends or possibly something more.

It's a very long shot, but either way I need to know. The good news is that with dating in the Torah world video chat can be nearly as good as being there, and much less tempting.

I'm assuming Girls of the Mossad would be a similar lineup?

Enemies of Israel shouldn't have it so good.

This is an eye-opener:

There is a catch, however, for married honey-pots. "If it is necessary to use a married woman, it would be best [for] her husband to divorce her. ... After the [sex] act, he would be entitled to bring her back," Schvat wrote.
"Naturally, a job of that sort could be given to a woman who in any event is licentious in her ways."
Wow, so basically state-sanctioned/guilt-free "It doesn't count if the ring is off!"

Why am I getting the feeling this idea will spread and be cited as vital to national security at every level of government and beyond?

I would suggest the kitchen necromancying trick, it does work very well for surveying your capital with your object of desire.

While I don't know reader's preferences, I'm not sure I'd assume this has anything to do with Israeli girls and more to do with, "hey, free sex for state secrets!"

It gets better, it says guys have no issues because the situation is never addressed in their writings.

This reeks of a prime example of interpreting religion to suit your needs/wants.

I would have posted pictures to go with the title, but the Mossad does not publish a personnel directory. We could post suspects though.

There might be a hidden commentary about how crap Mossad are at their jobs.

You say that like it's a bad thing. ?

Anyway. Whilst trolling GIS for "ugly democrat women" and "ugly British women" (the second phase of the joke which I can't be bothered with now because you're a crap straight man) I've just invented a new game: How many pages does it take to get to the gay porn on GIS without actually typing the words "gay porn"?

To be fair, I was neither aware nor willing to be a part of your "joke".

Anyway, your posts inhibited my ability to later comment that this should be renamed the "Post a hot jew" thread, so we're even.

Be suspicious if a hot date shows up with a divorce attorney in tow. Since that looks unusual - perhaps the attorney will deliver the wine, then stay with the car.

Definitely Mossad. The real question is: licentious in their ways?

Certainly. What's interesting here is not that Israeli spies are using sex to get information, but that a religious leader is saying that God is ok with breaking his rules under certain circumstances. Unfortunately, in God's documentation it is neither stated under which circumstances it's ok to break his rules, nor that it's even ok to break them at all, raising the question of under what authority can this Rabbi make his proclamation.

The rabbis, who became the most influential leaders and judges of the Jewish people at a point thousands of years ago, have the authority based on Torah law to make specific legal rulings (to posken) that are binding on those who accept the Torah. We are commanded to respect the Torah authorities who are so empowered in the days in which we live and not to rebel against the Torah that they teach us. However, this authority is limited by previous Torah precedent and other technical boundaries, the stature of the generation in question and the prestige of the specific rabbi(s) ruling.

I don't know too much about Rabbi Schvat, and I don't know if he's necessarily qualified to posken in that fashion. If he were one of the chief rabbis he could make a unilateral pronouncement and have it command some serious weight among Torah-observant Jews, but short of that while his opinions may be respected they may not be followed given that he's not a very well-recognized figure (to me at, least - first I've heard of him). The people who follow him as their rabbi may be bound to accept his opinion, but outside of that this is just one not-too-influential rabbi's view AFAIK. For an opinion like that to really stick, you'd have to see an influential rabbi or a group of them offer it up. In addition to that, the authority of rabbis generally is limited after a certain point in modern times because of the lack of a ruling Torah council. When the Great Sanhedrin of 71 was a functional body it commanded respect of Jewry worldwide, and no one could challenge it. There have been attempts to restore the Sanhedrin a number of times in history, including in more recent years, in which a "nascent Sanhedrin" has been trying to establish itself. Without the Sanhedrin there are some natural disagreements and fractures on certain aspects of Torah. It's similar to how things would be in the US if the federal Supreme Court stopped functioning but lower courts continued to rule - you'd be left with differences of opinions based on region between lower courts and no final arbiter to harmonize the discordant approaches. The differences are less pronounced and more nuanced in Judaism because so much of Torah law was settled long ago, but there are differences.
