I have an older 450 sawtooth, and after much deliberation, I've figured out that the logic board is fried. Outside, of Apple, it's impossible to find a sawtooth logic board, but there's no shortage of them on ebay. If I bought a p-supply to match, the repair would cost me about $200 less than doing it through apple. But will it work? Another quick question: will a quicksilver power supply (rated at 340 watts) work with a gigabit ethernet board (which uses a 338 watt power supply?. Both use 22pin connectors for the p1cable. I'll find a way to show my gratitude to you guys, thanks.

The power supply will work if the connectors are the same I think.

I don't think I made myself clear (as usual): will a gigabit logic board and power supply fit in an older sawtooth tower?

If i'm not mistaken, it would fit, but you would probably have to do some mods.

Extensive mods? I hope not; I don't have the tools readily available to me. Will I have to drill holes and saw things?

it will work but the back of the G4 you will have to drill holes in the back so the ports line up and you might have to put holes in the case for the screw placement on the mobo so they line up perfectly, other then that it should work, its not a hard mod just a fustrating one heh.
