Um, what are you talking about? What's "bt fon"? Bluetooth? What's showing up on the screen? Can you explain your problem a bit better?

BT FON is a wireless network handed out by BT Homehubs. You share part of your broadband, the BT Homehub broadcasts an open BT FON network which you can connect to and use if you're a BT customer or pay for it.

If you don't use WiFi on your computer, just switch it off, then your computer will stop automatically connecting to the BT FON networks.

If you do use WiFi, go into System Preferences, Network, select your WiFi connection and check 'Ask to join new networks'. Then click the 'Advanced' button and remove BT FON from the list of preffered networks.

Moving to Networking.

If its your home hub, log into it and see if you can switch off the FON and Openzone networks.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Sounds like BT "know what's best for their customers" whether they ask or not... Kind of like AT&T or other big telecoms. I don't mind this sort of thing if it's made clear what's happening and why, but setting up a wireless network like this without telling the customer that it's there and giving the customer the chance to manage it from the outset is both a security threat and an opportunity to let the customer's account rack up usage that may not necessarily belong to that customer. That's not cool.
