Oh! Thanks for posting the screenshot of Nickel Cobalt cause I JUST remembered how badly I want this theme to come out... and how it's 100 Billion times better than your screenshot. Thanks for ruining my day!

I think you guys are being a little harsh.

Like all themes in the starting stages, it has potential. Just massage it a bit, and post a more complete update.

Ignore the negative nannies. Most of them haven't even attempted to make a theme themselves. But they think they are experts at it anyhow.

Ditto.
Would folks rather have no previews at all? Where's the fun in that? Why not encourage a member embarking on a new theme instead of trying to cut him down.

And if certain elements are similar to another theme, well, you can say that of most themes. We all borrow from what we've seen. I forget who said it, but remember the old saying...
"A good artist borrows, great ones steal."

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

The scrollbar is blurry, try to get it nice and sharp like the push button on the left, that will make a huge difference. I also really like the stylized Apple.

penguinn, unfortunately posting previews here is begging for insults, negative comments and a collection of childish words like poo

And then we see people complaining in the same forum that no new themes are coming out and so on...

Maybe you should name your theme ParadoX, in honor of the whining kids here who bring down all the mockups and yet go boo hoo because nothing new is coming out

Keep up the nice work!!!

I dispise "Aqua" buttons. - - normally - -
By making the push buttons square, it made that look much tighter. I like it.

probably redundant but "sharpen" the radio buttons, check marks and slider buttons to match the push buttons... thats all this needs.

love the colors. nice start.

I took the freedom to click on the link provided in your signature penguinn, and I briefly noticed your post about your age (sorry, if I am moving this thread off topic pointing this out) but I am very impressed by your skills developing Mac themes in your age. Keep up the good work.
I agree with zimp it's still a little early to raise opinions, but I like the funky Apple logo in the left corner.

thanks sniffer my dad is an amazing graphic designer, and i suppose it runs in the family because I pick things up easily....

so i've been working on it all morning and afternoon.... i've made great progress!!!
So far i've made no errors, and since i made the mockup i'll finish this faster... if making this amount of progress over the next 2-3 days, i'll be done!
I'll post a screenshot a bit later, when i finish more

Those are considered normal hours here in Vegas.

And, MAN, you have got this theme looking great in double quick time. Looking forward to using it.

I like this. It's different colors than other themes, so that's a good thing in my book.

Here are some critique's, take them at whatever you like.

The menu you clicked is dark, but the gradient highlight over is light, not sure if I like that. Something a tad darker might look better, or something that wasn't a gradient on mouse over. Maybe it's just the white font? I dunno.

That's about all I can think of for now. Something is missing, I'm just not sure of what. Weird

whats missing: the rest of the theme
i'll change the font color of the mouse over, just for you and i'll see how it looks...

its awesome that i'm finally getting useful feedback unlike other themes
This theme will turn out to be awesome in the end because of this

i better get back to work, i'll post again tomorrow or the day after with a new screen

This looks nice, but here's a suggestion for a possible update in the future - reserve the blue for presssed/selected states. Background tabs and unpressed buttons would use the gray from the menubar and would only become bright blue when selected/pressed.

It's a bit blue-heavy now, I think.

The only other thing I see is that the toolbar button looks sorta weird. Not sure how or why, but something about it looks "off".

It is coming along nicely by the looks of things.

It is great to see (useful) input from the other members. Most forums seem to be all about flaming each other, It is nice to see the GUI community helping each other out.
I have been a bit slow in posting any efforts by myself as I thought I would receive a lot of stick for them being so rubbish ( I admit they are ). However, Seeing that help is at hand I am encouraged to continue in my efforts to attempt some kind of mods.

Nice job Penguinn.

I do notice that the highlighted "Edit" menu is bevelled to look inset (which looks cool), whereas everything else in the theme isnt. sorta looks outta place.

This is only my opinion, so please dont take it as any kind of criticism (damn how do you spell that word) as you are doing some cool work there.

Looks very good, especially the titlebar. But how about a grey (or some other color) variation? A bit too much blue for me - maybe just a paler blue variation?
