I have been having an intermittent problem lately in that when launching Safari which is set to Apple as the home page and I get an error message saying that I am not connected to the Internet. I know that's not true but I run the diagnostics anyway. It returns a message saying that everything seems to be working properly but I am still unable to connect. I have no trouble connecting to other sites. When I launch Firefox I don't have any issues. I am also not able to connect to the iTunes store ever since upgrading to iTunes 7.6.

I had the computer in for a suspected logic board problem a while ago but no problem was found. Does this sound like a potential logic board issue? The machine is running sluggishly and I don't have any strange 3rd party programs.
I am running a MacBook with a 2GHz Intel Core Duo with 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

This is a software problem, not a hardware problem. If it were a hardware problem, it would be with your wireless adapter/ethernet (depending on which you use), but most likely your failures would be consistent and reproducible.

Does the same thing happen under a different OS X account on that same machine?
