Was anyone else aware that they give you one courtesy replacement at the Apple store? I went this past weekend ready to drop 200 for a replacement and the genius asked "Is this your first time coming in with this phone?" I said yes and he said "Ok we'll go ahead and replace it this one time".... Purely a self inflicted, drunk, early AM iPhone drop and I got a new one no questions asked... Same with my friend who had issues with his home button. Props to Apple! Best store visit yet (Apple Store Augusta GA)... not crowded and extremely nice staff. Not too many hipsters, just normal people.

Wow, a courtesy, one-time iPhone replacement?
Who'd have thunk it?
Wonder if it happens on a store-by-store basis or whether it's Apple policy?
In any case, thanks, because that's very heartening to know!

This might be policy. I have a friend who bought theirs in for another reason, and there was a big scratch on the screen. They replaced it no questions asked.

No go for my daughter at the Corte Madera CA store. They said $200 to fix it. We went to a non-apple repair place in SF to get the job done for $120

My understanding is that Apple's policy is to give the Geniuses a lot of leeway WRT coughing up a free phone.
