I have a nearly 1 year old iPod with a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. I don't watch a lot of videos but when I do, it's pretty annoying as it shows up red.
Are dead pixels covered under AppleCare?

Only one way to find out for sure, and make sure you go before your warranty runs out!

If it's one pixel, I somehow doubt Apple will replace the iPod.

AFAIK from my experience with Apple stores is there are not a lot of ROCK SOLID POLICES. They replaced my out of warranty 80GB and sniffed in disdain at my dead shuffle.
Take it in and give it a shot. Look sad.

I had a similar problem with my refurb'd 80GB Classic. I downloaded this movie file, gently rubbed the screen while it was playing and i've been stuck pixel free for months and months now. It saved me a trip to the Apple store anyways...

If it's still under warranty why not just go to the apple store and let them either replace it or fix it. You paid the ipod along with the 1 year warranty as it is so make us of it.

Just curious - why have you waited this long to address the problem?
