I'm getting the 15" powerbook
1.33g4
256mb ram(have 512 sitting at home)
60gb hard drive
64mb radeon 9600
dvd/cdrw drive
all other goodies
plus final cut express ($59 with purchase of laptop and student discount)

I'm buying it from the retail store it's right by my house. I don't really want to order online, but how much of a diference will I see inh upgrading the 60gb 4600rpm dirve to the 80gb 5400rpm drive, is it worth the extra $120?

and if any one hase any sugestion would be great, going to be paying this off for the next 2 years

In general, a faster hard drive will really help preformance. I'd get it.

You would definitely notice with Final Cut, but as long as you are doing multimedia work, you would probably be better off with a Firewire 7200RPM or even 10000RPM external drive.

I wouldn't worry about shipping... their packaging is pretty good and I doubt that (unless they drop-kicked the package off of 2+ story building) you'll have any problems.

Also, the faster drive is definitely worth it. I'd love to see a 7200rpm drive avaliable in the Powerbooks, I would definitely drop the coin on it...

I was looking around on the site and for $25 more a month I can get the
15"
1.5 g4
80gb HD
512 ram
combo drive (saves $180)
backlit keyboard
final cut express
is this worth the extra money, or should I save it and stick with the 1.33g4?

If you are going into the 1.5ghz tier, you might as well go for the faster 80gb HD, bump the video to 128, and in your case drop the SuperDrive. Sounds like a good machine.

Now if you are financing BE CAREFULL. I had a friend finance their older G4 Quick Silver through Apple/MBNA and the rate was 23%. That is crazy. Just a thought. Good Luck

Apple no longer uses or accepts the MBNA. Now it's the Apple Credit Account, which is handled by Juniper.
