I recently picked up a RangeMax Wireless Router (Model WPN824). The main reason I picked this router is I am sharing my cable connection with my neighbor and the he would lose his connection. I had some dead spots in my house as well. This router has solved that problem. Amazing range and speed - even on my notoriously bad TiBook.
Netgear has a trade up offer where they will sen you either a USB2 adapter, a Pcmcia adapter or PCi adapter if you send in your old router. I am using this with my Ti Power book and my Cube, both of which have airport cards and wonder if either the USB2 or pcmcia card have any chance of working on a Apple.

I don't see why the USB adapter and the PCMIA adaptor shouldn't work on the Mac, they are pretty standard.

They may need Mac specific drivers, that's why.

That's "PC Card" -- PCMCIA has not been the name of the cards for almost a decade. (PCMCIA is still the name of the standards organization that makes the PC Card and CardBus standards.)

As John says, they need Mac specific drivers. One really good way to find out if they will work with a Mac is to check the manufacturer's web site. If their page for the "Model X Wireless PC Card" says it works with OS X, you can be pretty certain that it will work. If the page lists a bunch of different versions of Windows (and maybe some Linux distributions) then it probably does not.

Well, Netgear says they have no drivers at the moment but may in the future. Did some digging and found Orangeware. They make some drivers for PC cards that use Atheros chips:

Got my free card today. Put it in. Installed the Orangeware software. No luck. The card seems to show up, but it wont connect.
