I found the Jaton USB XpressNet for $�15 at <a href="http://www.togopc.com/" target="_blank">http://www.togopc.com/</a> This is the store front for Jaton. Has anyone ever heard of these guys or ordered something from them? How can I check them out to see what kind of track record they have?

They say the adapter will work with OS 9 and have drivers on there page. Downloaded them and they seem to be mac extensions.

Going to buy one and see what happens.

Really off topic and doesn't answer your question, but I am curious. Why do you need this? Did something happen to your port?

Yep! Burnt out ethernet port. Bought an adapter made by Xircom last week from tiger direct for 5 bucks. On the TD website it claimed the adapter worked with OS 8-9... well it doesn't. When I checked out the Xircom site, turns out they have been bought out by intel.On their site they claimed the adapter would work with existing usb drivers in OS 8-9. Then on another page they siad this device will not work with Mac. Does anyone know where I can get an ethernet port for my motherboard and I can just soldier in a new one?

Yeah, kinda thought that's what happened. So I am a little confused, are you still going to try the one you found, or is the same thing or what. What kind of machine are you using, I assume iMac, am I right?

Yeah I guess I'm gonna buy it and try it out. $15 ($21 with shipping) isn't so bad to be able to get this thing working on my network. And it's a lot cheaper than getting the port repaired. I'll let evereone know if it works. Thats the one thing that drives me nuts about this and other forums: No one ever seems to give a follow up as to if something they tried worked or not....

Oh yeah, It's an imac 350 slot loading. I got it from a guy who is a diehard PC user and wanted this "abomination" out of his sight! It also seems to have a CRT that is on its way out. The color shifts from yellow tinted to blue tinted. I read up on changing out the CRT and I'm a little freaked out. You have to discharge the CRT which carries a major electrical cahrge. Sounds dangerous! Right now it's just an over glorified mp3 boom box. Would be nice to get in in better working order though. My son has been playing harry potter on it and gets a littl confused when everthing looks yellow. I told him it must be part of the game. Ah to be four again....

So, will this thing allow me to hook up a USB printer to an ethernet router and share it?

Was there any success with this (The Jaton)? What about other possible solutions for USB->Ethernet? Specifically, has anyone found one that works with Mac OSX? (I've got an iMac with fried E-net port)...
