The Texas Public Education Reform Foundation is sponsoring a statewide education summit on 16 Feb 2007. Steve Jobs and Michael Dell are scheduled to speak at 12:50 PM regarding: Learning,Technology & Education Reform, Enhancing Education through Technology.
Steve Jobs is rarely, if ever seen, in public other than at Apple Retail Store Openings, MWSF or WWDC. Are there any Apple/Mac enthusiasts available to document the event in Austin TX? Photos welcomed.

Actually thats $1/yr x 100 yrs = $100/century.

But hey, steve, mikey, what diff does it make, they both have mo money than they could ever possibly need anyways

But in terms of kewl/unique/vision, steve wins hands down !

And mikey is the one who said yrs ago that apple should close up shop and give stockholders their money back......what a bonehead
Personally I find it hilarious that you have the hots for my gramma. Especially seeins how she is 3x your age, and makes your Brittney-Spears-wannabe 30-something wife look like a rag doll who went thru WWIII with a burning stick of dynamite up her a** :)

He was at the Stanford graduation a couple of years back and apparently talked about how useless school is. I think I see why he's not invited to many things.

Weird. I wouldn't pay $1 to go see him speak. He's the CEO of a computer company, not a philosopher or political leader.

He's also possibly the best speaker of our age. That's why people joke about Jobs being surrounded with a reality distortion field.

Also, I would much rather hear from a leader in computer technology than a politician. He's much more likely to have something interesting to say.

Ah, I was just going by what my friend who was actually in that graduating class told me.

I don't know what it is, but the English politicians and leaders seem on average to be much better at oratory than their American equivalents.

A British politician could stand behind a podium and say, "I enjoy rubbing my fingers through my own feces," and it would still sound intelligent and classy.

I wish I had a British accent...

Well... no, I guess not. But philosophers would have something maybe at least worth paying to hear. What the hell is Stevie going to say?

"Uh..hey! I made Apple...um... we build cool computers... unlike microsoft! Huh huh. Um... "

Why do people pay to go see that?

When's the last time you paid for a movie?

I think my case is made here.

I went to the theatre just last weekend, and I bought Battlestar on DVD.

Either way. The point is, if it's reasonable to pay to watch movies even though they aren't Socratic monologues, I don't see why it's unreasonable to want to see Steve Jobs give a kickass presentation about a topic you're interested in.

It may be the next best thing to seeing Jobs and Dell duke it out in the ring. Which is probably why the going admission is $90.
