Another favourite song thread.

Which song(s) are you loving more than the others? Which song(s) can't you stop playing repeatedly and obsessively?

For me:

"Real Life" by Nellie McKay
"Busby Berkeley Dreams" by The Magnetic Fields

I created a Smart Playlist in iTunes of most often played songs from those songs I have added since 01 January 2006. These were some of the top entries.

If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next - Manic Street Preachers, Forever Delayed
Perfect and Ava Adore - Smashing Pumpkins, Rotten Apples: Greatest Hits
Where Is My Love? - Cat Power, The Greatest
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

My top-five most played songs of all time are as follows.

Ride It On - Mazzy Star, She Hangs Brightly
Girl From The North Country - Johnny Cash, The Essential Johnny Cash (Disc 2)
Talk to Me of Mendocino - Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Kate & Anna McGarrigle
Everloving - Moby, Play
Tomorrow - James, The Best Of James
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

I absolutely love the Adore album by The Smashing Pumpkins. It's my personal favorite.
(Yes, I like it even more than Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Blasphemy or not, it's true.)

And Cat Power? My god, love them. Have you heard their past releases? You Are Free is wonderful.

Me? I've been listening to "Phantom Limb" by The Shins constantly. Absolutely love it.

It's a bit sad, but I've almost stopped listening to music since my ears started ringing so badly.

Apple has gapped up 1.5% this morning and I'm starting to fell like a master of the universe while listening to Yoshida Brothers' songs Overland Blues and Kodo (its traditional Japanese instruments with a contemporary beat—very big in Japan).

Haha, Wikipedia has the best fact ever about them.
In the Japanese rendering of their stage name, the Japanese kanji characters for "Kyōdai" 兄弟 is read as "brothers", but separately the characters mean "older brother" 兄 (read as "ani") and "younger brother" 弟 (read as "otōto").
How random. That's like saying, "The first word of Smashing Pumpkins' name is read as 'smashing,' but it's actually made up of the word 'smash' and the dependent morpheme '-ing,' which makes the action progressive or turns it into a noun."

I should add, I don't find Disturbed's recent cover of Land of Confusion all that bad. I dig it when it comes on. (And I'm not much a metal/hard rock/whatever guy)
