I have a friend who just got a Wanhao Duplicator i3, I'm anxious to play with it a bit.

Looks good, but have 2 questions:
1) Where to I get the schematics for all the stuff I want to print? If I want to print this fingernail clipper on my desk, how about do I get started?
2) Is this Mac friendly?

I've used Ultimakers with Macs, they work really well.
You can download schematics from Thingiverse among others.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

There are Macs in the video and you can actually load finished still files from an SD card so no trouble at all to use a Mac.

The FlashForge also uses SD cards, and the software you use to generate the file you send to the printer (Replicator) is Mac compatible.
Thingiverse, as mentioned, is the current "go to" repository of 3D models.
You can use TinkerCAD to build your own models. It's browser based, so no OS dependencies. That's how I made my first "invention", which were tiny plastic wedges I can use to set the angle for a floor light.

The ones I used to use are on the left. Mine are on the right.
