gofridge is glad that the Giants won. Movado watches are expensive.

gofridge does not like the Series 800 line that Tom Brady endorses anyway.

Wow.

That field goal the pats opted out of really ended up biting them in the ass. Unnecessary move...

Giants played outstanding football, they totally wanted it more. Wes Welker and Faulk were the only bright spots for me in this game.

No worries, it's only a game.

Well, makes me feel better about the Packers loosing the Championship game against the Giants. They were just too good this year.

I simply cannot wait to hear from Patriot fans now. Things were getting out of control up in New England.

Awesome game! Classic football.

Bill Belichick leaving the field before the end of the game was bad form. I hope the NFL fines him. The game is over when the clock hits zero, not when Belichick thinks it's over.

You already heard from me, I'm pretty disappointed and I'll admit the Patriots that played tonight were sloppy and untalented.

Brady couldn't seem to throw for sh!t.

Edit: Agreed on the whole bad form thing too. What a way to end an amazing season...

EAT IT!

For months I kept hearing about how awesome the Pats are. For four weeks, nothing but "The Giants have no chance".

Absoloutly, although that game was played in special frozen circumstances that neutralized Favre.. I think if the Packers bought a roof for their damn stadium that game would have ended in their favor...

regardless, NYG beat the Bucs, Cowboys and Packers at Tampa, Dallas and Green Bay.

Those were some of the strongest teams. Then they go and beat the Patriots. I'd say they were just too good this year as well.

Although that did't show until the playoffs. Reminded me of the Steelers a couple of years ago. Entering as wild-card and proceeding to win the Superbowl.

I respect that.

(oh and 18-1 is just brilliant )

Yep, I guess I Pats coach did not have confidence in his FG kicker. Definitely changed the out come out the game, and cost me the second quarter in my pool. I would have won both the first and second quarter if the Pats make the FG

FANTASTIC finish! Damn, I'm so proud of Eli.

as for Belichick scurrying to the locker room with :01 to go, what a pansy! Poor sportsmanship.

Yes, Brady threw as good as his line would let him. The Giants defense was on, Pats offense was off.

I'm not really a much of a football fan so I don't really care who won. The giants did great an they deserved it as much as anyone. Awesome game.

I do have to say however, that all of this "underdog" rah rah bullshit is just as effing retarded as those lame asses who root for teams just because they think they'll win. Gimme a break people.

I would remind you also that the clock did count to zero at first. For all we know by the time he realized he was already gone and decided fck it. Hell, it took them long enough to get the people off the field. (No, I didn't see any post game stuff to know if they asked him about this)

To me it was indicative of the way Belichick coached all year; snotty, arrogant, and tactless. He didn't see any reason to stick around, so he packed up his toys and went home.

Trust me, I KNOW arrogance. I see it every day in the mirror.

Trash talking is a pillar of sports.

In fact, I'd be disappointed in any Pats fan that didn't do just a little trash talking. With the season they had it was warranted.

The underdog won though, guess my next joy will be the Sox in the summer...

Long odds? They weren't THAT long. The Giants only lost what…TWO games? At the very beginning of the season? They're a good team. It's not like it was the Bears or something.

But no, I don't agree with rooting for the underdog JUST because they are an underdog.

Besides, I suspect most of the "underdog" rah-rah-ing is really just Pats poo-poo-ing in disguise. If it's just the joy of seeing them beat the odds then why the animosity toward the Pats everywhere? Hmmmm?

Anyway, I know I'm thinking too much. Back to the festivities!

Facts ?

The Gianst were 10:6 in the regular season, the lowest (or second lowest ?!?!) seeded team ever to play in a Superbowl.

So yes, it was a long shot.

And they looked bad much of the season. And the Patriots beat them already, in a game that was exciting but in Giants stadium and kind of fluky.

A stunning - stunning - upset.

Second-lowest.

The Giants in the post-season were an entirely different team.

It's still stinging a bit. They had one drive where I glimpsed some good old Patriots play like short passes, first downs and marching down the field in a systematic manner. All the good stuff they won 3 rings with. Other than that it was like the teams had traded their abilities at some Voodoo church.

Entirely different, sure. Good enought to beat what was clearly one of the best teams ever? Outquarterback the best quarterback? Outcoach the best coach?

No bloody way. I'm shocked and amazed. For example next year, if you could choose - do you pick Coughlin over Belichek as your head coach? Brady over Manning?

This is why you play the game. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. This is why you crown the winner AFTER the game, not before it.
