I had to do a double take on this one. My first reaction was, That girl is ugly as hell. My second reaction was, I can't believe there are guys for whom this advertisement is appealing. Are there any plain-looking, androgynous, impotent youths who care to disagree with my assessment of this ad?

I knew I would instantly get attacked, because I figured that quite a few of you here at MacNN look like the "man" in the ad....

That looks like a parody of a banner ad.

Hmm.. I don't know what's wrong, as I can see it still.

I will describe it for you, in flowery prose: As I was checking Facebook, I saw in the corner of my eye a blue flash like a shooting star. You, my stunning Venus, were perched demurely in a vertical banner advert next to my news feed, and your piercing blue eyes were beckoning me to click on your beauteous face; for I no longer felt the desire to see that 11 of my friends had changed their profile pictures, or that David became a fan of Obama. Your beauteous face and flowing blond hair overpowered my heart. My sweet Helen, perhaps just this once I will fall for a female. But as I fixed my eyes on your face I noticed a weak five o'clock shadow . . . as I observed your breast I saw nothing but flatness and pit stains . . . and your legs were covered in hair! You wretched lady-boy, stealing my heart!

American Apparel is known for its ironic, attention-whoring publicity campaigns. It is not known for good taste.

It's a picture of a male stoner in a tank top and gym shorts who appears to have an itchy crotch. Best part is the pair of chest pimples.

The face is awfully masculine, even though he has great eyes. I just can't believe chest acne is now a fashion statement to be used in advertisement.

Quoted because it's fun out of context.

If only there was some type of program which could mask such blemishes. Like they used to work on photos in shops. I wonder what it would be called.

Ugly is the new hot.

Seriously though, I love Am-apparel t-shirts (except those retarded extremely deep v necks), but I hate the fashion trend associated with their stuff.

Yea, that bikini looks pretty retarded. I am not looking forward to the impending resurgence of lame 90s-style design trends. We're not quite there yet, but give it a few years . . . .
