I am getting a PB soon for work... to work with my home set up.

Quite frankly, the current 12" is all I really need, but I like to stay ahead in tech, and I'm not in a bind to get it right away... I can wait a couple of months.

Would you buy the current PB 12"? or wait and the the lower end offering that will likely add power and keep price the same in a month or two?

There hasn't been an upgrade in a while so I would definately expect one in January wether or not its a faster G4 or a brand new G5 disign. If you can, I would wait.

The Powerbook is coming up in the upgrade cycle. It hasn't been updated since April.

This is an amazing site:

I'd bet a handy dollar that the PB will be updated in January.
The world needs more Canada.

Sounds like a consensus on it...

I want the small form factor myself.. the 12" PB.. I wonder if they'll make a G5 larger PB, and keep the smaller PB as a G4?

I think a new line should appear in the end of Jan. But I doubt it will be G5.
probably 'refined' G4s

As I have a "need" for a smaller laptop now.. I am leaning on getting it now... The G5 laptop (if) when it comes out soon will likely be the higher end larger 17" or something... and I don't need that much power for spread sheets and .doc's.

Now I'm torn about whether to drop a bit more and get the 15"!

More than likely... it might take most of '05 as well to get a G5 into a PowerBook.

If you keep on waitng. you will never get one. I would get one right away. I was like you waited and waited and waited and finally I said If I keep wating I will never get it waiting for the best. THe current pb is awesome. No need to wait and with 10.4 comming out soon o man you are set.
