I don't get it. The MBP has both the GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT on one machine, or you get to choose one or the other? I'll choose the more powerful 9600M GT then.

0:39AM "We're introing a new generation of MacBook on top of the white plastic model." It's just like the Pro... yet smaller.

10:41AM "Again we're using the 9400M. Here's our system architecture, very clean. And of course, we've got that glass trackpad, and we've got 5 hours of battery life." Now he's back on the environmental soundness of this thing. This is the most eco friendly MacBook ever in the history of human existence.

damn it

10:48AM Oooh, some nice close-up shots of the new MacBook Pro. Here's what we're bummed about -- no matte finish for the display? You know, we use these outdoors, this is going to make it kind of a pain. Apple, consider an alternate version.

I sympathize brass. My matte screen is already bad outdoors, granted its just bad in general. But glossy looks better. Looks over practicality, duh.

10:57AM Q: What's up with the 17-inch?
A: Tim: It's being refreshed today as well.

10:56AM Phil: "We have the best HD movie and TV options in iTunes."

10:56AM "Blu-ray?"

Steve: "Blu-ray is just a bag of hurt. It's great to watch the movies, but the licensing of the tech is so complex, we're waiting till things settle down and Blu-ray takes off in the marketplace."

10:55AM Q: No Blu-ray, and display port -- why no HDMI?
A: Steve: HDMI is limited in resolution. Phil: for typical computer use, display port is the connector of the future.

So if you want to use your MBP at a desk, you'll need a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter, display adapter, and a USB hub (Really? Two ****ing USB ports? And on the left side, far away from the mouse?) I'm less than enthusiastic.

Hmmm... If it's got FW 800 on the AluMacBook then I will consider it. I only need the white MacBook though. I guess it depends what that extra $300 buys.

It makes less sense to put them on the right. How annoying would it be to keep running into all your device wires while trying to use your mouse?

A new Mac Mini with 9400M, couple with the new 24" LED display would be sweet. I would be like the iMac.
