iOS 7.1 beta 3 allows users to delete the installers for unused over-the-air firmware updates, reports note. The option can be found under the General/Usage menu under Settings, where the installer is treated like any other file. Automatic over-the-air updates have been possible since iOS 6, but people who choose not to install them have been forced to keep installers on their devices, losing space ranging from hundreds of megabytes to several gigabytes.

It's unknown whether the final release of iOS 7.1 will keep the feature, since Apple sometimes makes changes in betas that are later rejected. The installer problem has generated a number of complaints though, including a lawsuit. The issue isn't present if users opt to update manually, which is the default setting in iOS 7.

Messages is bloating? The only "bloat" I see is if you're keeping videos/photos they can eat up a lot of space.

Isn't it technically iOS 7.1 beta 2 that allows deletion of over-the-air update files?

The only reason that beta 3 update shows up is because it hasn't been installed yet.
