Mail (And all Cocoa apps, I assume) doesn't auto correct at all. Does it do any other corrections for you?

Not a problem for me. If I want them capitalized, I capitalize them myself.

Spell Catcher will do this (and a lot more) for you in Mail and any other Cocoa-based app.
It auto-corrects, spell checks, manages text snippets, can manipulate text on the fly and much much more.
After QuickSilver, this is the most useful and time-saving app I know.

Now, I'm as big of a fan of blogs as anyone, but this seems a bit spammy to me, as it links to your personal blog (which includes no link to the actual software, or any personal experience with the software recently.)
Let's try again.

I don't think it can be spam.
I'm not selling anything. I'm not making any money out of recommending it. I'm not a participant in AdSense or any other revenue-raising exercise. I'm not emailing 50,00 people about it.
I'm just pointing out a great app, which solves the original poster's (otherwise unanswered) question.
But not putting a link to Rain Maker was bad omission on my part. Thanks for pointing that out.

Thank you all for your replys:
No, mail.app doesn't correct anything else.. I had only noticed the i's as this is the most frequent change I need to make. Spot the MS user
Thanks for the response: "i do it myself", Whilst this tickled me, I know one can do it ones self however, the question pertained to automation.
I find this so irritating I may have to use Entourage again (don't want to pay for the suggested software), and I thought I was shot of it...
THANKS!!

Oh I hate auto change/auto capitalize functions in outlook (pc).
I hope Apple never puts them in. More often then not, I type what I want to be shown exactly but auto correct assumes I'm wrong and changes it. I then have to hit cntl-z to undo it.

If you want system-wide auto-correction/typing features, you have two other options:
TypeIt4Me (shareware)
Textpander (freeware/donationware)
