I just randomly saw this on digg today, and I'm bored out of my mind so I'll share. I've never even heard of it (maybe because it's smaller than my toilet..maybe.). I'm not required to be proud of this, am I?

Weird. Picture is on the wikipedia link if you click the title. I'm sure it will change your life.

A very, very small batch of flowers counts as a park?

That's what I'm wondering...somebody at the "I-Decide-Which-Areas-Become-Official-Parks" office must have been having the most boring day of his/her life. Could've been a $5 bet at the office:

WINNER: "I bet you I can get a pot of flowers to become an official park by Friday!"
SANE PERSON OF THE OFFICE: "YOU'RE ON!"

You ought to go out one night and dig up an entire park.

One of the first comments on digg is awesome: This is an easy way to brag. "Yeah, just came back from jogging around the park twice..."

WTF?

Fagan told the story of the park's origin as follows:[citation needed] He looked out the window and spotted a leprechaun digging in the hole. He ran down and grabbed the leprechaun, which meant that he had earned a wish. Fagan said he wished for a park of his own; but since he had not specified the size of the park in his wish, the leprechaun gave him the hole. Over the next two decades, Fagan often featured the park and its head leprechaun, named Patrick O'Toole, in his whimsical column.
Fagan died of cancer in 1969, but the park lived on, cared for by others.

I think it was a lovely idea and doubt such a thing could or would be done today without a lot of BS or be done at all.

Definitely a nice thing!

I once took a girl to see that. When I was in Highschool we took a trip out to there during some other stuff. As I understand it, Washington Park, just a few miles up the road is one of the largest city parks in the world.

Little bit o' Fun (Irish reference not really intended)

So theoretically, I could say I took a dump that covered half a city park and be correct?

Yes, but only if it's caught on camera.

Saw this on Futility Closet the other day:

Mill Ends Park | Futility Closet

One of the more interesting blogs/RSS feeds out there, methinks.

My girlfriend and I went to that park before. We read on Wikipedia it was the smallest park in the world.

That Wikipedia article smells like someone has been filling it with BS, frankly.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
