Hello everyone..

I recently installed 4GB of ram into my new Al MacBook and have the option to return the "old" (2) 1GB sticks for $30.

My question is; Is Apple Care going to give me hard time if I ever need to send the computer in for repair?

Also, is $30 all these 1GB DDR3 sticks worth?

Thanks!

**moderators, I went to edit the title and hit "enter" on accident. Please change this to read "Question about selling back "old" ram" - Thanks!**

Apple won't care that you upgraded your ram, though if you have them service your machine and your ram doesn't pass their tests they'll remove it and send it back to you in a bag with a nice note telling you that it failed and that you should get new ram.

There's very little demand for low-capacity memory sticks since computers usually come with them so no one is looking for them.

$30/ea is a pretty good price, $30/both is a pretty poor price.

$30/both isn't a poor price if the other option is $0... If you don't have any other computers that can be upgraded, sell it back.

@ mduell: $30 for both is what OWC is giving for the trade in.

I agree. with both you (adamfishercox, mduell). Otherwise it will just collect dust and selling it back along with my hold hard drive (friend wants it for their 2.0 macbook) will pay for my new 320GB 7,200rpm unit.

Thanks guys..
