Ok this clip is funny and all but I have to wonder what in the hell is wrong with these rednecks?

People like this make me ill. They are just driving around thinking they are tuff guys and are obviously jealous that someone is not fat, poor white trash like themselves.

Anyway, BURN!

I live in the South, and I despise rednecks. I think they give us a bad reputation, and leads to stereotyping.

I've seen this clip on several other forums and a lot of people think that it might be a fake or staged.

And does this occur in Canada (i think that's what some of the other boards thought)? I didn't know Canada had rednecks.

Hmm. The video won't work in my Safari. It loaded up, but it just shows white.

EDIT: Nevermind, reloaded it again, it works.

I'm not saying that they weren't stupid and didn't deserve it, but technically he held a gun to them and took their camera, although it's not like the rednecks would head right down to the police station and file a report , the BMW guy was prety smart about it :thumbsup

I'm willing to bet these rednecks weren't smart enough to remember his license plate.

They can show it to chicks in the bar to show them how tuff and hung they are.

South? Those guys are about as Canadian as it gets.

Also, looked staged to me. The reactions didn't seem very realistic.

BUT....

You never know if the bad guys following you are packing heat (have guns), themselves. What's worse is if the ones following you -OUTNUMBER- you. So, if it was me, i'd drive over to the nearest police station/county sherrif's dept. ......... see if they follow me. Hell, i'd even call 911 on the cell while all that's going on.

Act all tough and macho about it and wind up dead? Or be smart about it, do the right thing, and survive? Make the choice.

(given the circumstance, i think he did the right thing....... but i also think he was just lucky)

Don't bully me, I got an Uzi... HOO-HAH!

I'm not sure if it was staged or not because of parts of the clip seemed kind of peculiar to me. Although it has happened to me before about a few months ago. Some racist people in a Civic with a huge winged spoiler started to give me the finger and throwing their cigarette butts to my car on the freeway. I kind of sped off and they followed and I exited the freeway after a couple exits later and quickly hid my car behind some fast food place and lost them. It was kind of scary to say the least.

this is why I love the make my day law... I live in colorado and from what I understand of the law... it basically says if someone is threatening to seriously injure you or kill you, you have the legal right to protect yourself, all the way up to lethal force... so I BELIEVE... if this were to happen in my state since the guy had a baseball bat you can legally pull a gun, if he tried to hit you you could shoot him...

So what would happen if you shot both of them (fatally, of course) and said that they tried to hit you? The world be less 2 rednecks, that's for sure!

Just like you are doing with this thread SWG? Posting this thinking you are above these people etc.

I wonder what would have happened if someone posted "I bunch of homos get whats coming to them" or "A bunch of niggers gets what is coming to em" if the response would be the same?

I am sure it wouldn't be.

SWG, you need to seriously learn some manners.

1. You KNOW people have complained about your bigoted use of the word "redneck" yet you still use it. Stop playing the victim.

2. You used to tell me ALL THE TIME Rednecks are a US thing. That they don't have them anywhere else.

You aren't a very honest person SWG.

I've never heard any redneck say "eh" every other sentence. And it felt pretty staged about halfway in. The little parking lot scene there at the end confirmed it for me. And it was boring. This thread is not the win.

The idiots in the clip are certainly without any form of class or intelligence, but I have not seen anything that would qualify them as "rednecks" or (as the clip is titled) "hillbillies." They're just morons who think they're tough and were out for trouble. They found it.

The video is fake.

Evidence:

* The improbable provocations of the two men.
* The man in the BMW driving down a lonely gravel road.
* The calm way the two men respond to having a gun pulled on them.
* The woman calmly strolling over toward the truck and taking the camera and keys.
* The dress of one of the two men conforming to the popular conception of a hillbilly (suspenders; a large paunch, etc.).

Egh, the provocation isnt all that improbable, like I said earlier I've had the same thing happen to me on more than a few occasions and ONLY in that car. Besides, it's kind of what white trash DO for a living, the whole improbable/unprovoked thing.

Driving down the road is really inconclusive.

They weren't THAT calm, but the rule is you do what the man with the gun says, whether he's a good guy or not.

The womans thing, well, why shouldnt SHE be calm, hmm?

The guy really wasnt any kind of stereotype. He had suspenders, so do lotsa people, both WT and ootherwise. yes, even in Canada. He's of the age and apparent slobbery that a paunch might be expected....you cant really point to it as a costume.

Biggest reason why I lean away from it being fake....it's too f'in long. Really drags in the middle...

I don't know about your first two points, Ulrich. I've seen some dirt-dumb people do some incredibly stupid stuff not too far off of this in terms of the provocations. And BMW owners might like to go see what's at the end of that gravel road.

The bat = threat of grave bodily harm and is just cause for the gun response. Had the moron proceeded further with the bat the gun owner would have a valid reason to shoot to kill because of fearing for his and his GF/wife's lives.

Only the participants know for sure but this video is most likely real -- stranger things happen all the time.

Yeah, but with a truck of rednecks shadowing them? It's like they're leading the way to their own lynching.

* The woman calmly strolling over toward the truck and taking the camera and keys.
That's the clincher for me. Her man has pulled a gun on a couple of hicks. She cannot be sure the hicks don't have a gun stashed somewhere they might make for, or that they won't take her as a hostage. It is a tense and potentially deadly situation. And at that critical moment the woman swaggers up to the truck, poker-faced, and grabs the keys and camera? No way.

What a wonderful multicultural world we live in! A bunch of Canadian rednecks driving a Japanese car, chasing another pair of Canadians driving a German car. I wouldn't be surprised if the camera were Korean too, and their clothes were all undoubtedly made in China.

I'd freak out with a three inch crowbar too! I've never seen one like that, I'd wonder if magic elves made it and then I'd wonder if they were your friends. Elves can kill me, I know that for sure.

SWG just wanted a chance to use the word "redneck"

Much like some giddy 14 year old calling people "faggots"
