A little overboard to make it a sticky. That's what the search function is for.

It is a great post with good information. It would definitely go into a hints section of we had that. But making the whole thread sticky for one post might be a bit much.

well lets start one. Like the "What app should I use for...?" in the software section. Pull out his post, lock it and when great general / common support posts like that come along add them.

Firstly, I should have moved this sooner. This is really a "feedback thread." Secondly, I'll pose the question in the mod lounge and come up with a concensus.
The only reason I have my doubts is that keeping it up to date or adding new hints would probably not go very far and I wouldn't be surprised if the thread ended up to be just that one post for some time. I think this idea has come up before and has not been realized for some good reason or another.
But I will ask because perhaps someone else has a better idea for a way to do it.

The private moderators forum has been around since the very beginning, and is still used for our discussions. It's just not visible to anyone who doesn't have access.
