Umm, what is the significance of this moment in time? This occurs 12 times a year, so there must be something else to it. I looked up 420, does it have to do with pot?

It's one of those things that was probably a lot cooler when only a few people knew about it. When the old lady next door knows what 4:20 means, that's when it's just the end of the trend.

420 is/was in most states possession of a controlled substance. Technically, 420.3 or 423 is possession of marijuana. 420 is also the subcategory for vehicle code in most states for driving under the influence.
