Was wondering if anyone either knew of an existing widget that will check any webmail you feed it or, failing that, an existing base or even just online guide for building my own.

It's my university email account and access is usually via webmail though there is POP3 access (I don't ever download the emails to my computer, leave them online instead) and also, when I'm logged in to the central server using ssh in the terminal, I can get some kind of command line notification.

Any ideas?
