For some reason, when I try to copy over certain PDF files from an XP box (the volume is mounted on my Mac through SMB/CIFS), I get an "insufficient privileges" message. These files are created by Acrobat Pro 7 on the PC and don't have any security settings or other restrictions enabled. Other PDF files, for example those downloaded from the web, will copy over fine.
The error persists whether I use the Finder or cp in Terminal. What's even more baffling is that, after trying for a while, I can finally copy over some files, but this seems to be entirely random: most of the time, I get the permissions error message. Any suggestions?
