Has anyone else realized, when switching from PPC to Intel Macs, that sometimes apps like Firefox, Word and Adobe CS will take vastly different amounts of time opening? On my old PowerMac G4 The apps opened at roughly the same speed all the time but on my MacBook, sometimes Firefox's dock icon will only bounce once and it is open and sometimes it will take nearly a minute. I have 2 gigs of RAM, by the way.

Both Word and Photoshop CS/CS2 are PowerPC-only applications, and thus run under Rosetta. The start times of Rosetta applications are indeed less predictable than that of native (Intel/Universal) apps.

The Photoshop CS3 beta is Universal, by the way ... and it screams on Core/Core 2 Duos. :-)

But what about Firefox 2.0.0.1 - that one is universal and seems the most unpredictable.
