Maybe I'm the only one who cares, but anyone found a reliable and free way to watch the matches online? I'm trying TVU player in Parallels, as there don't seem to be any Mac alternatives, but have no idea if there will be any channels carrying it. Guess I'll find out next week, but it would be nice to know in advance.

Cricket? Are you an American?

If you have cable, BBCA might be carying it. I've seen cricket and rugby on the various sports channels.

I'm from India originally.

I only have basic cable, and probably won't be near a TV anyway. BBC online will have coverage, but it blocks IPs that don't originate in the UK. Last time I tried using a proxy server but that didn't work.

I used to, but haven't for many, many years. That's what getting married and having kids does to you

Indyablue is apparently going to cover some of the games but it's impossible to tell from the site whether they will have text, sound or video. I found cricketon.tv too. That's pay per view but I wasn't encouraged by the fact that I couldn't load the sample. If you find anything, let us know.

If you can't find a web stream, could I recommend getting yourself to Home Depot, getting a gallon of paint, roll it on a wall and watch it dry? Pretty much the same effect.

OK, I'm mostly kidding. As an American in the UK, I'm just starting to have some appreciation for cricket, in fact just yesterday I bought my son a kids set, with a bat, stumps and a ball. I caught some of the Ashes on a webcast, and I tried to be interested, but it was difficult. I think I'd enjoy going to see a match live. Especially in Jamaica.

Good luck.

I'm watching the opening ceremony on Sopcast (in Parallels) after managing to find a channel that's carrying it. The connection seems to be touch and go, but it's better than nothing. Anyway, if you don't mind using Windows, this site has a list of streaming sports coverage:
MyP2P Other sports Schedule | Live Tennis, Cricket, Golf, Formula 1 and more live sports for free on your pc

Otherwise, you can catch highlights after the games here (free registration required):
CricIndia - Home
