Anyone ever go to Boda Borg? Unlike "escape the room" scenarios, their quests are built with a variety of challenges to switch between, and each quest has multiple room progression. You have to solve the first room to achieve the next, and it's designed so you fail and fail and fail at doing so. There are few instructions or clues. Half the battle was even figuring out what the puzzles even were, by which time you've failed and have to exit the door of shame, to wait in line and try again.
We spent two hours, completed one quest, and were almost close to solving 2 others, and completely stymied on 2 more. School vacation week was pretty crowded so sometimes we had to wait to redo a room.
They have locations all over, but not everywhere:

Closest I’ve been is a bota bag.
It’s okay to cringe. I sure did.

I went the the one near Boston a few years back. Its super fun. And tiring. Allot of the rooms require climbing / crawling. I dislike how they describe it as failing. Its not really that. It's more trial and error due to incomplete information.

It does kinda sound like dying and going back to the beginning of the level.
