10.2.3 is out via software update.

Here is what the info states:

The 10.2.3 Update delivers enhanced functionality and improved reliability for the following applications, utilities, and technologies: AppleScript, Classic compatibility, Disk Copy, Disk Utility, Image Capture, Mail, OpenGL, Print Center, and Rendezvous. It provides audio, disc recording, graphics, printing improvements, as well as AFP and WebDAV networking improvements. The update also provides updated security services and includes the latest Security Updates.

I have yet to apply it...waiting for reports.

I'm running 10.2.3 right now and have Suitcase 10.2 running. It seem to work just fine.

The dock has gone haywire, too bloody fast!

The window resizing seem to be faster and also open folders. Can't tell other stuff since I don't seem to use many of the updated stuff except Mail.app.

iChat has gotten a new look on the red, yellow and green buttons. It looks ugly. Looks like the buttons been punched into the "brushed metal".

Anybody try 10.2.3. with Virtual PC 6 yet? The speed increase is supposed to be "significantly faster". That sounds good to me.

Thanks

Well, I just installed it and am about to restart. Just in case, I'm going to put my theme back to Aqua and such. Well, so much for my 12-day uptime (a personal record)! I'll be back soon to post my experiences with it!

It may be too early to tell but so far 10.2.3 is running fine on my PowerBook. I don't know if I'm imagining things because I could swear that my mouse/cursor is more responsive than before. And it was really good before. I'm using Logitech MX500. Maybe it's that phenomenon where just b/c I have something new I think it works better.

For those interested, no adverse side effects in XDarwin that I have found yet by appling 10.2.3 patch. OpenGL stuff does seem a lot faster inside of aqua. Now if only XDarwin would release an accelerated version...

You may be correct. I too have the MX500 and it feels MORE responsive than before.

Just finished installing 10.2.3 on my Pismo 400. Everything seems to be fine
(at least Terminal, ssh, Mozilla, Preview and Photoshop seem to be working).

It doesn't feel any faster than 10.2.2.

Idisk functionality still sucks.

When you copy a file to your iDisk, OS X doesn't give you an accurate estimate as to how much of the transfer has been made (as opposed to other WebDav apps like Goliath).

Also, clicking Stop to cancel the idisk copy still seems to have no effect on my Ti800, and if I try to relaunch the Finder (thereby canceling the copy in progress), my system hangs and needs a cold start (this has been the case through many previous renditions of X).

Plus, copying large files to my idisk (20-60 megs) still seems hit or miss--sometimes it works, but othertimes the copy seems to go on indefinitely...

I finally updated to 10.2.3 and all is well. I really can not see much difference yet on either my QuickSilver or my TiBook...but the good news is that it all works.

yea, i can't see any speed difference either...

let's hope that panther's release finally brings os x's speed to a decent level!
