tons of posts here on laptop bags. i have a bag i like using already, so those aren't what i need

i don't see enough on sleeves. what sleeve for the 17inch are you all using? what do you recommend?

for all those who say search the archives, i have, and most is not about sleeves, but bags...

Indeed. Go for the SleeveCase. I tried BooqBags before...

Oh yeah. Get the flap. If not, your sleeve is kind of "open" on one side.

Also think about D-rings and strap for using it "standalone".

If you want style, go with this:

http://www.acmemade.com/bags.html

I know the URL says bags, but they are sleeves. Trust me.

I've been very happy without the flap. Sure, one side is open, but it's not really exposed. And the sleeve is thinner and easier to put into other bags.

For my purposes, the Tom Bihn Mitre is best:

I have the Sfbags Cargo Medium with Sleevcase and Gearpouch. Very happy. Can use the bag with or without laptop - and when I do have my PB inside you cant tell. Just looks like a normal town bag. Expenisve but worth it. Gary, the owner is very friendly and the service is first class. The also do very nice iPod and iSight cases.

Timbuk2 xxl sleeve here for my 17". I like it becuase it has handles to carry it around in. It also has a half inch of padding all around plus it has a buckle to keep it secure at the top. NO ZIPPERS. Don't buy a sleeve with zippers.
