I came out of my flat this morning to find my motorbike (VTR1000) on it's side next to my car. I was so shocked. I went back inside to get the keys so I could get it back up, knowing I had no chance of being able to do it by myself.

I come back outside with the keys and my next door neighbour has her whole car cover in dust/flower stuff. She said she heard a bunch of noise out the front at about 12.30am. But not enough noise for a motorbike falling over.

Anyway I'm really pissed right now, lucky the bike still starts and looks like only cosmetic damage with scratches on the right handle bar, exhaust and bottom part of the engine. I live on a busy street but have had no problems in the 3 years I have been there.

I made a statement with the police, but that will not take the scratches off or what ever hidden damage happened form the impact

Thanks for listening

That sucks. What's available in the realm of alarms for motorcycles? I've never looked into something like that before.

i'd be ape ****, will insurance be able to cover it?

I think there is some new fangled technology that places a gyro or sensor on your bike and then gives you a call or notifies you if the bike is being effed with, they aren't cheap.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

Sucks big time! You don't mess with a guy's motorcycle.

thanks guys

I brought the bike second hand and can't afford the $$ for full insurance which most state that it has to be garage anyway.

I spent $1400 on new discs and registration.

It's like when I first scratched my titanium PB. Just takes the shine of it now. Will not get that feeling back. I could feel better if it was provoked or something, but it was just someone being a tool.

I need to move to a place that has a garage. But renting in Sydney is killer

With the right pipes VTR1000s sound great. Saw one on the road Saturday. I've always liked 'em.

My dad bought a Sportster used last year that had been dropped. We were able to get pretty much all of the scratches off, it just took a lot of elbow grease. It looked pretty much brand new. The exhaust and handlebar stuff should buff out just find. Good luck, and sorry to hear that it happened.

Off topic: The big new Victories have these bars that pop out when the bike starts to fall over, it's pretty neat. All bikes should have them, but sadly it adds a crapload of weight.

I knocked over a BMW bike in downtown Toronto this summer.

I apologized to the dude. He never called to give me an estimate though. Lucky for me he had Bay Street money.

Seeing as how I'm a jerk and I'm mean to everyone, I'm glad this happened.

Haha oh come on, Bay Street people don't drive Harleys. There was a Hayabusa behind me and a couple BMW bikes in front!

These are the kinds of things that happen when you're supposed to parallel park a 25-foot box truck on the corner of Canada's largest financial district at 4 in the afternoon. Bosses, bosses, bosses.
