Launch up Safari, on the menubar click Safari>Preferences
Click on "General" and on the part that says "Default Web Browser" click and choose your browser of choice.

Apparently controls over default web browser got intergrated into Safari.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, that was just about the dumbest UI decision Apple has ever made. Sorta Microsoft-ian.

Well, that's where it was, and where it should be! Very lame to move it into Safari's prefs.

Apple wants users to think, Safari = browser, Mail = mail client, etc. It is, of course, the wrong thing for Apple to do, but it makes sense from a corporate point of view.

Didn't there used to be an "Internet" preference pane in System Prefs? Was that in Jaguar?

SEND APPLE FEEDBACK ABOUT THIS

http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/

It is ridiculous that the default browser preference is in Safari.
The same is true of MAIL
