Ok since I'm in the market for an ipod, well I will be this september, unless I cannot wait and I buy one now
Anyways I've been searching for a nice case to protect it. right now I'm leaning towards a silicon case, like iskins evo or ifrogz I started reading reviews on another board and there's been complaints that silicon cases (and I assume other types) scratch up the ipod when inserting them.
This doesn't seem to make sense since silicon is like rubber. Can anyone explain this or shed some light on it, or is it total BS.
along theme of ipod cases that are made of silicon, can anyone recommend a good one, so far I'm really liking the ifrogz but it does seem to be a litle more work on "assembling" the case then a normal silicon case.
Thanks in advance.

Silicon cases don't scratch iPods/iPhones; the dust that gets trapped between the silicon skin and the iPod/iPhone does.

Clean silicone skins will NOT scratch anything. But not that I said "clean" skins. Keep your hands VERY clean, make sure the skin is extremely clean before you start, and you won't have any problems with scratches.
I like my XSKN.

Thanks that makes more sense, I was also PMd by another member who basically said the same thing. Its not that silicon was causing the scratches but rather anything that is getting trapped underneath

There will ALWAYS be dust trapped under a skin unless it's something like the InvisibleShield that's actually stuck on.
