Okay, I looked at some of the threads on external speakers but they all seem to pertain to powermacs and such. I'm looking to get speakers for my powerbook and was wondering if people had any suggestions? BTW, I recently moved to Sydney Australia, so I'm not too sure what brands they have over here.

Another thought is of course price. Should I buy expensive speakers, when they'll most likely be used only in my room? for the money, I could just buy a mini system and connect my powerbook through the system.

I'm looking for speakers mainly to play music off iTunes and to watch dvd's with. Should I be going for 4 speakers or 2?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Why would your Powerbook speaker requirements be any different from those for a desktop? Are you going to pack them up and carry them around with you?

My recomendation it to get any 3 piece speaker system, a sub and two sats, but if you really want great sound get either the Kilipsh (SP) or these I have had phenominal succes with cambridge soundworks I highly recomend them
