Hi all.

For the past few months, my airport base station has been dropping its signal every now and then. I power-cycle it and all is well.

Tonight, it simply quit working. I get a solid red/amber light in the center and then an occasional blinking green light on the right, but it won't connect to my DSL modem.

I've switched everything over to my G4 for connecting to my DSL and all it good, but I need to know whether or not the APBS is actually DEAD before I head off to Staples tomorrow to pick up an 802.11g wireless router.

Has anyone experienced this? I know the things just die, and believe me, I've gotten my money out of this thing (it's been running constantly since I bought it a couple of years ago). But is this what happens when they turn belly up?

Cheers
Scott

Well, nevermind. I picked up a cheapo netgear 802.11g wireless router, and all is well.

I have the older graphite base station, which has three lights that glow either red/amber or green. It is dead. It has ceased to be. It is an ex-base station.

It has also already been replaced.

Yup. It's more or less from the VERY famous "Dead Parrot Sketch."
